Caffeine Free Hibiscus Beet Latte


This past summer while Michael and I were in London, we ate at the cutest cafe called Farm Girl Cafe. It's like the British version of The Butcher's Daughter. While we were there I had what was titled "Hibiscus Matcha" and I thought 'good God there is more than one kind over here???' I asked our hostess if there was really such thing as hibiscus matcha and she very confidently replied "of course" aka "you silly American where have you been." SO I climbed out from under my America shaped rock and spent the next month (I kid you not) searching for the elusive hibiscus matcha. Allow me to save you hours of googling and tell you that there is no. such. thing. And I am in fact, a silly American.

So I set out to find the next best thing this side of the Atlantic, and long story short: I did it. This caffeine free treat is now a staple in my day and actually gives me energy. Real energy. Not "drink this dandelion tea! It's just like coffee" type energy. 


  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 1/2 scoop of Dope Beet Power or 2 oz of beet juice
  • 1 tsp of hibiscus powder


  1. In a small pot, warm up your coconut milk over medium heat. If you have a milk frother, by all means add this to your regimen! 
  2. In your mug, add beet powder (you could do beat juice as an alternative) and 1/2 tsp hibiscus powder. Pour a small amount of hot water over them to dissolve them a bit. Note: they will not dissolve all the way so avoid that last sip
  3. Pour warm coco milk to fill the rest of the mug, sprinkle the remaining hibiscus powder over the top and enjoy!
